What is
Neurodivergent-affirming care?
As a neurodivergent-affirming care provider, Rachel prioritizes...

Flexibility
Neurodivergent experiences are highly individual. Even within the same diagnosis (autism, ADHD, OCD, etc.), needs, preferences, and challenges vary widely. “One-size-fits-all” therapy often fails because it assumes everyone learns, communicates, and processes emotions the same way. We adapt session structure, communication style, and interventions to fit your unique profile.
Many neurodivergent people have experienced masking, invalidation, or being pressured to fit neurotypical norms. At Fearless Therapy, we believe your way of being is valid. We adjust therapy to work for you, rather than forcing you to fit the therapy.

We keep in mind our clients' regulation and accessibility needs, including sensory sensitivities, fluctuating energy or focus, and different communication needs (e.g., needing more processing time, written over verbal). Our goal is to help reduce your stress so you can focus on therapy.

Your life may already involve constant adjustment to external demands. So, we want to show that adaptation can be mutual, not one-sided. Let us support you in setting your own goals, so you can celebrate your unique progression in therapy (not just neurotypical “milestones”).
We believe flexibility isn’t just a courtesy—it’s an ethical, trauma-informed, and affirming practice that recognizes the diverse ways that humans think, feel, and interact.

Collaboration
We view therapy as collaborative in nature, shifting the dynamic from “therapist as expert” to “therapist and client as partners.” We respect your lived experience and acknowledge that you are the expect on your own mind and life. The therapist provides professional knowledge, while you provide self-knowledge. Collaborative therapy helps avoid neurotypical norms from being imposed on neurodivergent individuals.

We believe trust and safety is built when your voice is heard and therapy decisions are made together with you. Our goal is to reduce power imbalances and improve engagement in therapy, and we know that therapy goals and strategies are more effective when they are co-created with you not for you.

We value partnership over correction, empowerment over compliance, and strengths over deficits. Our approach resists ableist assumptions and respects different ways of thinking, feeling, and being.
